Wild Horses. Real Leadership. Lives Changed.

Learning. Leadership. Life Lessons.

The Mustang Ambassador Program pairs adopted and rescued horses, mustangs with youth, veterans, and others who need exactly what a wild horse can teach them — honesty, patience, and the courage to lead. Since 2015, our herd of horses has been giving people a reason to stand a little taller.

They're Not Just Horses.
They're Honest Mirrors.

Mustangs are prey animals with sharp survival instincts, which means they read people better than people read themselves. A mustang won’t fake calm around someone who isn’t calm. That’s not a flaw in our program — it’s the whole point.

Horses That Can't Be Fooled

Mustangs react to what's true, not what's said. Every session is honest feedback, in real time.

A Herd Built on Second Chances

Our horses came from roundups, kill pens, rescues and lost homes. Every one of them is proof that a hard start doesn't have to write the ending.

Certified Horsemanship Association (CHA) Based Instruction

Our instructors follow CHA based riding instruction led by MAP’s CHA certified Program Director, so the leadership lessons come with real horsemanship skill behind them.

A Working Ranch, Not a Petting ZooRun

Grooming, feeding, mucking, saddling — every participant does the real work of caring for a real horse.

Find the Program That Fits Your Journey

Equine Leadership Program

Best for: Ages 7–and up

A Monday-Friday day program where youth learn ground horsemanship, English and Western riding, and the leadership fundamentals that come from caring for an animal that depends on them — self-management, communication, problem-solving, relationships, and resilience.

Key Features:

  • One-week day program, 9AM–4PM
  • Ground horsemanship + English & Western riding
  • Optional CHA Horsemanship Intensive (Levels 1–4?, badges & certification)
  • Friday performance demonstration — family and friends welcome

Experience:
Kids leave the week with horsemanship knowledge, self-leadership skills, and the kind of confidence that only comes from earning it.

Horses for Heroes

Best for: Veterans & military families

Reign in stress. Restore balance. Horses for Heroes pairs veterans with our mustangs for equine-assisted learning — no prior horse experience necessary, no performance pressure, just a quiet space to reset. Through guided, hands-on time with the herd, participants build self-awareness, regulate stress, and pick up grounding techniques they can carry back into everyday life.

Key Features:

  • No horse experience required
  • Guided equine-assisted learning sessions
  • Mindfulness-based grounding techniques
  • Connection with other veterans who understand

Experience:

Veterans leave with practical tools for staying present and calm — and a community that doesn’t ask them to explain themselves twice.

Wild Horses, Wild Women

Best for: Young women building confidence

A mustang can’t be fooled by a confident front — it responds to what’s actually true underneath. That makes them uncannily good teachers for young women learning to trust their own voice. This workshop pairs participants with wild horses for gentling and training work that builds authenticity, courage, and self-esteem from the inside out.

Key Features:

  • Small, personal workshop groups
  • Hands-on wild horse gentling & training
  • Focus on authenticity, confidence & leadership
  • Open to young women — email to apply

Experience:

Participants describe it as the first time a horse “saw through” them — and the moment everything shifted.

Magical Mustang Workshops

Best for: Birthdays, families & private groups

Celebrate somewhere a little wilder than a backyard. Our private events bring guests of all ages face-to-face with rescued mustangs for an afternoon of hands-on connection, safe interaction, and a story to tell long after the candles are blown out.

Key Features:

  • Private birthday & family workshop gatherings
  • Team-building & group celebrations
  • Safe, guided hands-on time with our herd
  • Custom experiences for groups of any age

Experience:

A celebration guests remember for the horses, not just the cake.

You Don't Have to Be a Rider to Belong Here.

Your sponsorship keeps a specific horse – Billy, Denver, Esperanza, Kippers, Phoenix, Tesla, Raven, Grace, Scarlett, Sage, PK, Dakota, or Arroyo.

More Ways to Be Part of the Herd

Horses for Heroes

Reign in stress. Restore balance. We pair veterans with mustangs for equine-assisted grounding, mindfulness, and connection — no riding experience required, just a willingness to sit with a horse and breathe

Volunteer at the Ranch

Trough-filling, stall-cleaning, grooming, feeding — the not-glamorous work that keeps 20+ mustangs healthy. Come for an afternoon, stay for the herd.

Sponsor a Horse

Behind every calm trail ride is a horse that needed dental work, hoof care, and vaccinations that year. Your sponsorship keeps a specific horse — Billy, Denver, Esperanza, Kippers, Phoenix, or Tesla — in the work they were made for.

Meet Esperanza. She's Waiting on You.

Monthly and yearly sponsorship levels are available, and 100% of it goes straight to their care.

Every horse in our sponsorship program has already survived the hardest part — a roundup, a kill pen, a life nobody thought was worth investing in. What they need now is routine: dental care, hoof trims, vaccinations, and someone who shows up for them every month.
